COMMENDATIONS: Commends the Kaplan High School softball team on winning the
Louisiana High School Athletic Association 2023 Non-Select Division III state
championship
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the Kaplan High School softball team on winning the Louisiana High School
3 Athletic Association 2023 Non-Select Division III state championship.
4 WHEREAS, the Kaplan High School softball team captured the 2023 Non-Select
5Division III state title by defeating Sterlington High School, 4-0, in the championship game
6held in Sulphur, Louisiana; and
7 WHEREAS, Kaplan Head Coach Brittany LeBeouf prepared her team perfectly, as
8they carried a significant win streak going into the championship game; and
9 WHEREAS, Kennedy Marceaux was named the Most Outstanding Player of the
10Non-Select Division III state tournament, and Kaplan pitcher Briley LeBeouf shut out the
11top-seeded Sterlington lineup to complete the team's incredible season; and
12 WHEREAS, all of the coaches and players on the Kaplan High School softball team
13are most deserving of the highest recognition for their incredible season.
14 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
15Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Kaplan High School softball team on
16winning the Louisiana High School Athletic Association 2023 Non-Select Division III state
17championship and does hereby extend sincerest wishes that the team continue its incredible
18work and always strive for greatness.
