HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 122

A RESOLUTION
To commend the Kaplan High School softball team on winning the Louisiana High School
Athletic Association 2023 Non-Select Division III state championship.
WHEREAS, the Kaplan High School softball team captured the 2023 Non-Select
Division III state title by defeating Sterlington High School, 4-0, in the championship game
held in Sulphur, Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, Kaplan Head Coach Brittany LeBeouf prepared her team perfectly, as
they carried a significant win streak going into the championship game; and
WHEREAS, Kennedy Marceaux was named the Most Outstanding Player of the
Non-Select Division III state tournament, and Kaplan pitcher Briley LeBeouf shut out the
top-seeded Sterlington lineup to complete the team's incredible season; and
WHEREAS, all of the coaches and players on the Kaplan High School softball team
are most deserving of the highest recognition for their incredible season.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Kaplan High School softball team on
winning the Louisiana High School Athletic Association 2023 Non-Select Division III state
championship and does hereby extend sincerest wishes that the team continue its incredible
work and always strive for greatness.
