HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 123

A RESOLUTION
To recognize May 8-12, 2023, as Teacher Appreciation Week in Louisiana and the inaugural
launch of Teacher Appreciation Fest in Louisiana House District No. 87.
WHEREAS, educators have made valuable contributions to the state and have helped
to make the state and communities better places for children and their families; and
WHEREAS, the establishment of Teacher Appreciation Fest in House District No. 87
by Representative Rodney Lyons in 2023, its inaugural year, is commendable and worthy
of recognition; and
WHEREAS, Teacher Appreciation Fest 2023 will honor dedicated educators in
House District No. 87; specifically at West Jefferson High School, Helen Cox High School,
John Ehret High School, Laureate Academy Charter School, Jefferson RISE Charter School,
Marrero Middle School, St. Ville Elementary School, Judge Lionel Collins Elementary
School, Woodland West Elementary School, Lincoln Elementary School for the Arts, and
Woodmere Elementary School; and
WHEREAS, the goal of Teacher Appreciation Fest is to intentionally and publicly
recognize the hard work of educators during Teacher Appreciation Week.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby recognize May 8-12, 2023, as Teacher Appreciation
Week and the inaugural launch of Teacher Appreciation Fest in Louisiana House District
No. 87 and does hereby commend the unwavering dedication and excellent work of teachers
on behalf of the citizens of Louisiana.
