A RESOLUTION
To amend and readopt House Rule 1.1 of the Rules of Order of the House of Representatives
to provide relative to use of the House Chamber.
BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the Legislature of Louisiana
that House Rule 1.1 of the Rules of Order of the House of Representatives is hereby
amended and readopted to read as follows:
Rule 1.1. Use of the Chamber
A. The House Chamber shall not be used as a public meeting place and its
use shall be confined to the House of Representatives and committees thereof and
the Legislature of Louisiana and committees thereof. the Democratic State Central
Committee, the Young Democrats of Louisiana, the Republican State Central
Committee, the Pelican Boys' State Legislature, the Pelican Girls' State Legislature,
the YMCA Youth Legislature, the Silver Haired Legislature, and the Louisiana
Jaycee Action Legislature, and the Louisiana Camp Fire Councils Legislature.
B. However, when the House has adjourned or during the time between
sessions of the legislature, the House Chamber may be utilized by the state central
committee and other established organizations of each recognized political party, by
nonprofit and educational organizations for the conduct of mock legislative sessions,
and by other state agencies for the conduct of cultural or educational programs,
subject to the approval of the Speaker and in accordance with a usage policy
established by the Speaker.
