COMMENDATIONS: Commends Sister Ammie McCrainey Isaac on the occasion of her
ninetieth birthday
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend Sister Ammie McCrainey Isaac on the occasion of her ninetieth birthday.
3 WHEREAS, Sister Ammie McCrainey Isaac is the mother of five children whom she
4raised to serve Christ and their community in a wide variety of professional careers, such as
5teaching, labor, postal service, and serving in the United States Navy; she also graciously
6accepted her role as a devoted "mother figure" to five additional children; and
7 WHEREAS, Sister Isaac worked for thirty-three years in oral health care; she served
8the New Orleans community by constructing dentures, working as a dental assistant, and
9serving as a dispensary clerk at the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry; and
10 WHEREAS, Sister Isaac began her Christian journey at The Grove African
11Methodist Episcopal Church in Natchez, Mississippi, and moved to historic St. James
12African Methodist Episcopal Church in New Orleans where she faithfully served in the
13choir, the Pastor's Aide Ministry, and as a steward, and she used these experiences to achieve
14significant spiritual growth; she truly leads an exemplary life of sacrifice, integrity, and faith,
15and her actions reveal her genuine pureness of heart; she is most deserving of the highest
16recognition on the occasion of her birthday.
17 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
18Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Sister Ammie McCrainey Isaac on the
19occasion of her ninetieth birthday; does hereby further recognize Sister Isaac's lifelong
20willingness to serve others; and does hereby extend sincerest wishes that she continue to
21prosper and enjoy good health for many years to come.
