HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 150
BY REPRESENTATIVE WILLARD
A RESOLUTION
To commend Sister Ammie McCrainey Isaac on the occasion of her ninetieth birthday.
WHEREAS, Sister Ammie McCrainey Isaac is the mother of five children whom she
raised to serve Christ and their community in a wide variety of professional careers, such as
teaching, labor, postal service, and serving in the United States Navy; she also graciously
accepted her role as a devoted "mother figure" to five additional children; and
WHEREAS, Sister Isaac worked for thirty-three years in oral health care; she served
the New Orleans community by constructing dentures, working as a dental assistant, and
serving as a dispensary clerk at the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry; and
WHEREAS, Sister Isaac began her Christian journey at The Grove African
Methodist Episcopal Church in Natchez, Mississippi, and moved to historic St. James
African Methodist Episcopal Church in New Orleans where she faithfully served in the
choir, the Pastor's Aide Ministry, and as a steward, and she used these experiences to achieve
significant spiritual growth; she truly leads an exemplary life of sacrifice, integrity, and faith,
and her actions reveal her genuine pureness of heart; she is most deserving of the highest
recognition on the occasion of her birthday.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Sister Ammie McCrainey Isaac on the
occasion of her ninetieth birthday; does hereby further recognize Sister Isaac's lifelong
willingness to serve others; and does hereby extend sincerest wishes that she continue to
prosper and enjoy good health for many years to come.
