HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 170
BY REPRESENTATIVE COX
A RESOLUTION
To commend Reverend Ronnie Evans for his civic and community service.
WHEREAS, Ronnie Evans was born on September 20, 1956, in Shreveport,
Louisiana, to Annie B. Evans and David A. Jones; he has shared forty-one years of marriage
with Anita Metoyer Evans, and they reside in Natchez, Louisiana; he is also father to two
children, Ronnie Jared Evans, an attorney in Washington, D.C., and Francis Brooke Evans
Fitzpatrick, former Miss Natchitoches Merry Christmas 2011 and resident of Dallas, Texas;
and
WHEREAS, Rev. Evans is a licensed ordained minister serving at Summer Hill
Baptist Church in Evelyn, Louisiana; he also formerly served St. John the Baptist Church
in Chestnut, Louisiana, Friendship Baptist Church in Natchitoches, Louisiana, and Shady
Grove Baptist Church in Robeline, Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, Rev. Evans received a bachelor of arts degree in accounting from
Northwestern State University in 1978 while also graduating from the university's Reserve
Officers' Training Corps program as a 2nd lieutenant; he went on to serve in the Louisiana
National Guard for six years and achieved the rank of captain; and
WHEREAS, Rev. Evans also worked for the City of Alexandria, office of community
development and served as a sales tax auditor for the Natchitoches Parish School Board and
notary public for the state of Louisiana in the parishes of Natchitoches and DeSoto; he also
held the title of tax supervisor for the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's Office where he oversaw
the collection and distribution of more than $20 million; he retired in 2020 after thirty-four
years of dedicated public service; and

WHEREAS, Rev. Evans joined Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., in 1976, and he has
since served honorably in numerous positions including president, secretary, treasurer, and
chapter advisor; he was also a member of the first class inducted into the Northwestern State
University Greek Hall of Fame, and he received the Nth degree from the university for his
dedicated service; he is also an active member of the Natchitoches Voters and Civic League
and former president of the Lambre Gin Homeowners Association in Natchez; and
WHEREAS, Rev. Ronnie Evans is most deserving of the highest recognition for his
dedicated service to his community and the state of Louisiana.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Reverend Ronnie Evans for his civic and
community service and does hereby extend sincerest wishes that he continue his incredible
work which brings great pride to the state of Louisiana.
