A RESOLUTION
To commend the Honorable Vincent J. Pierre and to express enduring gratitude for his
outstanding contributions to Lafayette Parish and the state of Louisiana, particularly
during his tenure as a distinguished member of the Louisiana House of
Representatives.
WHEREAS, Vincent J. Pierre is a notable public servant who has served with
excellence for three terms as a state representative since taking office in 2012, during which
time he has fully used every opportunity to serve the citizens of District No. 44 and the state
in an honorable and dedicated manner; and
WHEREAS, Representative Pierre has served as the chair of the Louisiana
Legislative Black Caucus and has been a proud member of the Acadiana Delegation and the
Democratic Caucus; and
WHEREAS, Representative Pierre's diligent committee service has included serving
as chair of the House Committee on Transportation, Highways, and Public Works; he has
also served as a member of the House Committee on Labor and Industrial Relations, the
House Committee on Insurance, the House Committee on Commerce, and the Select
Committee on Disaster Recovery; and

WHEREAS, during his time in the House of Representatives, Representative Pierre
has worked on and supported many important pieces of legislation; and
WHEREAS, Vincent J. Pierre will forever have a special place in the chronicles of
the history of Louisiana, for he is one of Louisiana's most outstanding public servants; and
WHEREAS, as he prepares to embark on the next exciting and productive chapter
of his life, Representative Pierre merits a sincere measure of commendation for his singular
contributions and the exemplary strides he has taken as an exceptional member of the
Louisiana House of Representatives.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Honorable Vincent J. Pierre; does extend
honor and recognition to him for his outstanding contributions during his tenure as a
distinguished member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, which has been marked
by his uncompromising endeavor to improve the welfare of his constituents in Lafayette
Parish and the state of Louisiana; and does hereby pay tribute to him for the generous and
effective way in which he has dedicated his intelligence and his energy to the service of his
family, friends, community, and state.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Louisiana House of Representatives hereby
expresses enduring gratitude to Representative Pierre for his service to the citizens of
Louisiana, as evidenced by his superlative achievements as a member of this distinguished
body, and does hereby extend to him the best wishes of all his colleagues for continued
prosperity and success in his future endeavors.
