HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 177
BY REPRESENTATIVE DUBUISSON
A RESOLUTION
To urge and request the Louisiana State Police to increase patrols on Interstate 10 between
Slidell and New Orleans.
WHEREAS, the mission statement of the Louisiana State Police is to ensure the
safety and security of the people in the state through enforcement of the laws of this state
and by providing other essential public safety services; and
WHEREAS, the Louisiana State Police has nine troops stationed throughout the state, 
with Troops L and B sharing jurisdiction over the portion of Interstate 10 that runs between
the cities of Slidell and New Orleans; and
WHEREAS, Slidell and New Orleans are approximately thirty-three miles away from
each other, with Interstate 10 serving as a popular route to commute between both cities; and
WHEREAS, in 2022, approximately twenty-three shootings occurred along Interstate
10 between Slidell and New Orleans; and
WHEREAS, the safety of motorists in Louisiana is of paramount importance, and
due to the increase in criminal activity along Interstate 10, motorists have great concern
regarding their safety.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the 
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby urge and request the Louisiana State Police to increase
patrols on Interstate 10 between Slidell and New Orleans in order to ensure the safety of
motorists in Louisiana.
