A RESOLUTION
To express support for the city of Breaux Bridge and its proclamation to establish a
Crawfish Capital Expressway.
WHEREAS, crawfish are a vital part of Breaux Bridge's economy; and
WHEREAS, the Legislature of Louisiana named Breaux Bridge as the Crawfish
Capital of the World in 1959; and
WHEREAS, Breaux Bridge's crawfish festival is known around the country and even
the world; and
WHEREAS, many people from all over the state and the country visit Breaux Bridge
each year for the Crawfish Festival; and
WHEREAS, residents of Breaux Bridge are proud of their designation as the
Crawfish Capital; and
WHEREAS, the city of Breaux Bridge has issued a proclamation to establish a
Crawfish Capital Expressway; and
WHEREAS, designating a roadway as the Crawfish Capital Expressway would be
another source of pride for residents of the city of Breaux Bridge.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express support for the city of Breaux Bridge upon its
proclamation to designate a roadway as the Crawfish Capital Expressway.
