HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 283
BY REPRESENTATIVE DEVILLIER
A RESOLUTION
To express the condolences of the House of Representatives upon the death of Earl
Guilbeau.
WHEREAS, it is with immense sadness and profound regret that the House of
Representatives has learned of the death, on May 7, 2023, of Earl Guilbeau; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Guilbeau was born in 1930 and was a native of Opelousas,
Louisiana; he was a resident of Church Point, Louisiana, at the time of his passing; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Guilbeau was a United States Army veteran who served honorably
during the Korean War; he worked for Gianfala and Son for thirty years and retired at the
age of eighty-three; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Guilbeau enjoyed fishing, hunting, and ending his day by sharing
a glass of wine with his wife and friends; he was immensely proud of his children and
grandchildren, and his family meant the world to him; and
WHEREAS, Earl Guilbeau leaves to cherish his memory his wife of sixty-four years,
Eldine Cormier Guilbeau; children, Ann G. Guidry, and her husband Buddy, Cathy G.
Colligan, and her husband Dallas, Thomas E. Guilbeau, and his wife Vicki, and Derek
Guilbeau; grandchildren, Nicholas Colligan, Andrew Colligan, Claudia Colligan, Ben
Guidry, Haley G. Hersh, Emma Guilbeau, Ethan Guilbeau, and Aidan Guilbeau; and his
great-grandchild, Collins Elizabeth Hersh; he will be deeply missed but certainly never
forgotten.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express heartfelt condolences on the death of Earl
Guilbeau and does hereby extend sincerest wishes that his family and friends find comfort
in their shared memories of his beautiful life.
