COMMENDATIONS: Commends the Oak Hill High School girls' basketball team on
winning the Louisiana High School Athletic Association 2023 Division V state
championship
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the Oak Hill High School girls' basketball team on winning the Louisiana High
3 School Athletic Association 2023 Division V state championship.
4 WHEREAS, the Oak Hill High School girls' basketball team claimed the 2023
5Division V state title by defeating J.S. Clark Leadership Academy, 74-54, in the
6championship game held at the Southeastern Louisiana University Center; and
7 WHEREAS, Oak Hill was led throughout the game by junior Alexis Dyer; she put
8up twenty-nine points and added fourteen rebounds en route to earning Most Outstanding
9Player honors; she was also very efficient with her scoring, making thirteen of her eighteen
10shots taken from the field; and
11 WHEREAS, Head Coach Kaci West led the Oak Hill girls' basketball team to an
12impressive record of thirty-three wins and only eleven losses this season; and
13 WHEREAS, the members of the Oak Hill High School girls' basketball team are
14most deserving of the highest recognition for their incredible accomplishment.
15 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
16Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Oak Hill High School girls' basketball
17team on winning the Louisiana High School Athletic Association 2023 Division V state
18championship and does hereby extend sincerest hopes that the team's coaches, players, and
19training staff continue their inspiring work and always strive for greatness.
