HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 34

A RESOLUTION
To commend the Oak Hill High School girls' basketball team on winning the Louisiana High
School Athletic Association 2023 Division V state championship.
WHEREAS, the Oak Hill High School girls' basketball team claimed the 2023
Division V state title by defeating J.S. Clark Leadership Academy, 74-54, in the
championship game held at the Southeastern Louisiana University Center; and
WHEREAS, Oak Hill was led throughout the game by junior Alexis Dyer; she put
up twenty-nine points and added fourteen rebounds en route to earning Most Outstanding
Player honors; she was also very efficient with her scoring, making thirteen of her eighteen
shots taken from the field; and
WHEREAS, Head Coach Kaci West led the Oak Hill girls' basketball team to an
impressive record of thirty-three wins and only eleven losses this season; and
WHEREAS, the members of the Oak Hill High School girls' basketball team are
most deserving of the highest recognition for their incredible accomplishment.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Oak Hill High School girls' basketball
team on winning the Louisiana High School Athletic Association 2023 Division V state
championship and does hereby extend sincerest hopes that the team's coaches, players, and
training staff continue their inspiring work and always strive for greatness.
