ENROLLED 2023 Regular Session HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 40 BY REPRESENTATIVE HODGES A RESOLUTION To express the condolences of the House of Representatives upon the death of Corporal Scotty Canezaro. WHEREAS, it is with immense sadness and profound regret that the House of Representatives has learned of the tragic and untimely passing, on March 26, 2023, of Corporal Scotty Canezaro of the Baton Rouge Police Department; and WHEREAS, Corporal Canezaro was a sixteen-year veteran of the BRPD who was a licensed helicopter pilot and trained tactical flight officer; he was assigned to the BRPD Air Support Unit as a Robinson R-44 helicopter pilot at the time of his passing; and WHEREAS, Corporal Canezaro was a dedicated husband and father who worked hard to provide for and protect his family; he had a passion for cooking, working out, and rescuing huskies; and WHEREAS, Corporal Scotty Canezaro sacrificed his life protecting his community; he leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Chelsea Canezaro; son, Ethan Canezaro; mother, Toni Canezaro; sister, Angela Canezaro; nieces, Savannah Canezaro and Madison Morris; father-in-law, John Chenevert; mother-in-law, Tina Chenevert; sisters-in-law, Claire Chenevert and Caitlyn Roberts; brother-in-law, Grant Roberts; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; he will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on forever in the hearts and minds of all who knew and loved him. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express heartfelt condolences on the death of Corporal Scotty Canezaro; does hereby recognize Corporal Canezaro's unrelenting dedication to the protection of his community; and does hereby extend sincerest wishes that his family, friends, colleagues, and loved ones find comfort in their shared memories of his life.
