ENROLLED 2023 Regular Session HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 53 BY REPRESENTATIVE LAFLEUR A RESOLUTION To recognize Thursday, April 20, 2023, as Junior League Day at the state capitol and to commend the Junior League for its contributions to Louisiana. WHEREAS, the Junior League's mission is to advance women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training; and WHEREAS, the Junior League strives to encourage women to use their leadership training and expertise to be catalysts for lasting change and to make sustainable improvements in our communities; and WHEREAS, the Junior Leagues of Baton Rouge, Greater Covington, Lafayette, Monroe, and New Orleans, and their several thousand members, continue to impact the lives of residents across Louisiana through contributions made by trained volunteers; and WHEREAS, the Junior Leagues of Baton Rouge, Greater Covington, Lafayette, Monroe, and New Orleans have made significant financial investments in their communities by providing community assistance funds and grant opportunities to their partner organizations to support projects that enhance quality of life and contribute to civic vitality. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby recognize Thursday, April 20, 2023, as Junior League Day at the state capitol and does hereby commend the dynamic women of the Junior Leagues of Baton Rouge, Greater Covington, Lafayette, Monroe, and New Orleans for their leadership, volunteer service, community impact, and financial investment in the state.
