COMMENDATIONS: Commends Lindsay McKinney on her selection as a 2023 Louisiana
Public Broadcasting Young Hero
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend Lindsay McKinney on her selection as a 2023 Louisiana Public Broadcasting
3 Young Hero.
4 WHEREAS, for twenty-eight years, Louisiana Public Broadcasting's (LPB) Young
5Heroes program has recognized state high school students who have excelled in academics,
6given significantly of themselves through public service, overcome adversity, exhibited
7extraordinary heroism, or displayed exceptional strength of character; and
8 WHEREAS, Lindsay McKinney is a senior at Franciscan High School in Baton
9Rouge, Louisiana, and is one of the six 2023 Louisiana Public Broadcasting Young Heroes;
10and
11 WHEREAS, Lindsay is a determined student who volunteers at the Baton Rouge
12Food Bank, Children's Hospital, and Sweet Olive Cemetery, and she mentors younger
13students at her school; she is inspired to serve her community by those who provided
14assistance to her and her mother when they faced financial hardships; she is committed to
15respectful leadership which will serve her well; and
16 WHEREAS, Ms. McKinney is a truly inspiring young woman who is most deserving
17of the highest recognition for her astounding drive and accomplishments.
18 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
19Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Lindsay McKinney on her selection as a
202023 Louisiana Public Broadcasting Young Hero and does hereby extend sincerest wishes
21that she continue her truly inspiring work and always strive for greatness.
