HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 58

A RESOLUTION
To commend Lindsay McKinney on her selection as a 2023 Louisiana Public Broadcasting
Young Hero.
WHEREAS, for twenty-eight years, Louisiana Public Broadcasting's (LPB) Young
Heroes program has recognized state high school students who have excelled in academics,
given significantly of themselves through public service, overcome adversity, exhibited
extraordinary heroism, or displayed exceptional strength of character; and
WHEREAS, Lindsay McKinney is a senior at Franciscan High School in Baton
Rouge, Louisiana, and is one of the six 2023 Louisiana Public Broadcasting Young Heroes;
and
WHEREAS, Lindsay is a determined student who volunteers at the Baton Rouge
Food Bank, Children's Hospital, and Sweet Olive Cemetery, and she mentors younger
students at her school; she is inspired to serve her community by those who provided
assistance to her and her mother when they faced financial hardships; she is committed to
respectful leadership which will serve her well; and
WHEREAS, Ms. McKinney is a truly inspiring young woman who is most deserving
of the highest recognition for her astounding drive and accomplishments.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Lindsay McKinney on her selection as a
2023 Louisiana Public Broadcasting Young Hero and does hereby extend sincerest wishes
that she continue her truly inspiring work and always strive for greatness.
