The original instrument and the following digest, which constitutes no part of the legislative instrument, were prepared by Matt DeVille. DIGEST SB 203 Original 2023 Regular Session Cloud Present law establishes criteria for a registrant to change his voter registration. Proposed law allows for the correction of errors made by a registrar of voters to a voter registration at any time. Present law requires the Dept. of State to use the United States Postal Service or its licensee to verify the names and addresses of the registrants in all precincts in the state and establishes that such a verification constitutes a valid canvass of the registered voter. Proposed law retains present law and further requires verification of the registrants' homestead exemption. Effective August 1, 2023. (Amends R.S. 18:192(A)(1)(a); adds R.S. 18:110(E))
