2023 Regular Session ENROLLED SENATE BILL NO. 59 BY SENATOR BERNARD 1 AN ACT 2 To amend and reenact Section 1 and Section 2 of Act 139 of the 2011 Regular Session of the 3 Legislature, to provide for the transfer of certain local and state property; to 4 authorize the transfer of certain local and state property in Natchitoches Parish; to 5 provide for the property description; to provide for reservation of mineral rights; to 6 provide for terms and conditions; and to provide for related matters. 7 Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published. 8 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana: 9 Section 1. Sections 1 and 2 of Act 139 of the 2011 Regular Session of the 10 Legislature are hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 11 * * * 12 Section 1. The Natchitoches Parish School Board and the State Board of 13 Elementary and Secondary Education, notwithstanding any other provision of law 14 to the contrary, are hereby authorized and empowered to convey, transfer, assign, 15 lease or deliver any interest, excluding mineral rights, the school board and the state 16 may have to all or any portion of the following described parcel of property to the 17 City of Natchitoches Parish Police Jury: 18 A certain tract of land situated and located in the City of 19 Natchitoches, Parish of Natchitoches, State of Louisiana, and 20 described as the Old Central Trade School Site located in Block C of 21 the Sibley-Pierson Addition to the City of Natchitoches, Louisiana. 22 23 Section 2. The Natchitoches Parish School Board and the State Board of 24 Elementary and Secondary Education are hereby authorized to enter into such 25 agreements, covenants, conditions, and stipulations and to execute such documents 26 as necessary to properly effectuate any conveyance, transfer, assignment, lease or 27 delivery of title, excluding mineral rights, to the property described in Section 1, and 28 as more specifically described in any such agreements entered into and documents ACT No. 39 Page 1 of 2 Coding: Words which are struck through are deletions from existing law; words in boldface type and underscored are additions. SB NO. 59 ENROLLED 1 executed by and between the Natchitoches Parish School Board and the State Board 2 of Elementary and Secondary Education and the City of Natchitoches Parish Police 3 Jury, in exchange of consideration proportionate to the appraised value of the 4 property. 5 Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not 6 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature 7 by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If 8 vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become 9 effective on the day following such approval.
