SENATE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 9

A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
To commend Bossier High School Principal David Thrash on the occasion of his retirement.
WHEREAS, on October 18, 2022, Bossier High School Principal David Thrash
announced that he would be retiring at the end of 2022 after a storied forty-year career in
education; and
WHEREAS, Principal Thrash has held a number of positions at various Bossier
schools but none that he holds more dear than his current position as principal at Bossier
High School which he has held for the past seventeen years; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure at Bossier High School, Principal Thrash made his
mark by leading the high school in major improvements and raising the graduation rate; and
WHEREAS, Principal Thrash has received statewide acclaim for his role in
improving Bossier High School by being named 2011 Louisiana State Principal of the Year
and being named a 2020 semifinalist for Louisiana State Principal of the Year; and
WHEREAS, Principal Thrash considers among his greatest honors to be named the
Bossier Parish High School Principal of the Year in both 2010 and 2018; and
WHEREAS, Principal Thrash is clearly leaving Bossier High School better than he
found it; and
WHEREAS, Principal Thrash has vowed to continue his support for the high school
that he loves, even after his retirement, by seeking to establish the "Nothing Bigger than B
Foundation" to give back to the school and parish that gave him the opportunity to spearhead
educational excellence.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend and congratulate Bossier High School Principal David Thrash on the occasion of
his retirement after his storied forty-year career in education.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Principal David Thrash.
