SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 35

LEGIS POWERS/FUNCTIONS. Welcomes the President of the National Assembly of Cote
d'lvoire, Mr. Adama Bictogo, and his delegation to Louisiana.
1 A RESOLUTION
2 To welcome the President of the National Assembly of Cote d'lvoire, Mr. Adama Bictogo,
3 and his delegation to Louisiana.
4 WHEREAS, the first National Assembly of Cote d'lvoire was constituted in 1960
5 with 70 elected members in accordance with their constitution that created the First
6 Republic; and
7 WHEREAS, from 1960 to 2016, the National Assembly was the Ivory Coast's
8 unicameral legislative body; and
9 WHEREAS, the National Assembly has been the lower house of the Parliament of
10 the Ivory Coast since November of 2016 and today is comprised of 255 elected officials; and
11 WHEREAS, on June 7, 2022, His Excellency Adama Bictogo was elected President
12 of the National Assembly with a record of 97% of the votes.
13 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
14 does hereby welcome the President of the National Assembly of Cote d'lvoire, Mr. Adama
15 Bictogo, and his delegation to Louisiana.
16 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
17 Mr. Adama Bictogo.
