SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 35

A RESOLUTION
To welcome the President of the National Assembly of Cote d'lvoire, Mr. Adama Bictogo,
and his delegation to Louisiana.
WHEREAS, the first National Assembly of Cote d'lvoire was constituted in 1960
with 70 elected members in accordance with their constitution that created the First
Republic; and
WHEREAS, from 1960 to 2016, the National Assembly was the Ivory Coast's
unicameral legislative body; and
WHEREAS, the National Assembly has been the lower house of the Parliament of
the Ivory Coast since November of 2016 and today is comprised of 255 elected officials; and
WHEREAS, on June 7, 2022, His Excellency Adama Bictogo was elected President
of the National Assembly with a record of 97% of the votes.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby welcome the President of the National Assembly of Cote d'lvoire, Mr. Adama
Bictogo, and his delegation to Louisiana.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Mr. Adama Bictogo.
