2023 Regular Session ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 70 BY SENATOR BOUIE A RESOLUTION To recognize Wednesday, May 10, 2023, as the National African American Insurance Association-Louisiana Chapter Day in the Louisiana Senate. WHEREAS, the National African American Insurance Association (NAAIA) was founded by Jerald L. Tillman in 1997, in Cincinnati, Ohio; and WHEREAS, NAAIA was organized to create a network among people of color and others employed in and affiliated with the insurance industry; and WHEREAS, NAAIA seeks to pool together talent to promote and enhance professionalism that can lead to industry recognition and career opportunities for its members; and WHEREAS, the mission of NAAIA is to empower African American insurance professionals in the insurance industry and work to attract talented individuals to the insurance industry; and WHEREAS, NAAIA is engaged in the sharing of information for personal growth and professional development; and WHEREAS, NAAIA currently has twenty-one chapters across the United States; and WHEREAS, the Louisiana Chapter of NAAIA was re-established in 2014 during the NAAIA National Conference that was held in New Orleans, Louisiana; and WHEREAS, the Louisiana Chapter is currently composed of members from New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, and other municipalities. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby recognize Wednesday, May 10, 2023, as the National African American Insurance Association-Louisiana Chapter Day in the Louisiana Senate.
