TAX: (Constitutional Amendment) Prohibits the receipt of tax revenues or other public
monies by high school interscholastic extracurricular athletic associations (Item #11)
1 A JOINT RESOLUTION
2Proposing to add Article VIII, Section 17 of the Constitution of Louisiana, to prohibit the
3 receipt of tax revenues or other public monies by certain interscholastic
4 extracurricular athletic associations; to provide for submission of the proposed
5 amendment to the electors; and to provide for related matters.
6 Section 1. Be it resolved by the Legislature of Louisiana, two-thirds of the members
7elected to each house concurring, that there shall be submitted to the electors of the state of
8Louisiana, for their approval or rejection in the manner provided by law, a proposal to add
9Article VIII, Section 17 of the Constitution of Louisiana, to read as follows:
10 §17. Interscholastic Extracurricular Athletic Associations; Prohibited Receipt of Tax
11 Revenues or Other Public Monies
12 Section 17. The receipt of tax revenues or other public monies by any
13 interscholastic extracurricular athletic association involved with high school athletics
14 is prohibited.
15 Section 2. Be it further resolved that this proposed amendment shall be submitted
16to the electors of the state of Louisiana at the statewide election to be held on March 29,
172025.
18 Section 3. Be it further resolved that on the official ballot to be used at the election,
19there shall be printed a proposition, upon which the electors of the state shall be permitted

1to vote YES or NO, to amend the Constitution of Louisiana, which proposition shall read as
2follows:
3 Do you support an amendment to prohibit the receipt of tax revenues or other
4 public monies by any interscholastic extracurricular athletic association
5 involved with high school athletics? (Adds Article VIII, Section 17)
