RÉSUMÉ DIGEST ACT 616 (HB 421) 2024 Regular Session Phelps New law authorizes a parent or guardian of a student with sickle cell disease to submit a sickle cell management and treatment plan to the student's school. New law requires a student's management and treatment plan to be developed by the student's parent or guardian and the student's treating physician. New law states that a student's sickle cell disease management and treatment plan shall include health care accommodations the student may require at school or while participating in a school activity and the signatures of the student's parent or guardian and the student's treating physician.
