HOUSE BILL NO. 490
BY REPRESENTATIVE BAYHAM
TRAFFIC/VIOLATIONS:  Prohibits the imposition of penalties for speeding in a school
zone if signage is not posted at the entrance and exit
1	AN ACT
2To enact R.S. 32:77.2, relative to school zone signage; to require signage be posted at
3 certain points in a school zone; to prohibit the imposition of penalties under certain
4 circumstances; and to provide for related matters.
5Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:  
6 Section 1.  R.S. 32:77.2 is hereby enacted to read as follows:  
7 ยง77.2.  School zones; speeding
8	No penalty in connection with any speeding violation in a school zone shall
9 apply if signage is not posted indicating the existence of the school zone at its
10 entrance and exit directing the public that the area in which the signage is posted is
11 a reduced speed zone.
