1 AN ACT
2 To enact R.S. 33:9613(H), relative to local inspector generals; to provide relative to the
3 office of the inspector general for the city of New Orleans; to provide for
4 investigative powers; to exempt the exercise of certain powers; and to provide for
5 related matters.
6 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
7 Section 1. R.S. 33:9613(H) is hereby enacted to read as follows:
8 ยง9613. Investigative powers

10 H. The inspector general and investigators employed in the New Orleans
11 Office of Inspector General shall be authorized to carry a firearm in the lawful
12 discharge of their duties provided they annually qualify in the use of firearms by the
13 Council on Peace Officer Standards and Training and have proof of qualification, in
14 addition to a valid identification as a retired law enforcement officer.
