1 AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact R.S. 40:31.35(C), relative to the fee for a commercial seafood permit;
3 to modify fees assessed to commercial seafood plants and distributors; and to
4 provide for related matters.
5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
6 Section 1. R.S. 40:31.35(C) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:
7 ยง31.35. Commercial seafood permit fee

9 C. The In addition to the fee provided for in Subsection A of this Section, the
10 department Louisiana Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism shall charge
11 and collect an annual imported seafood safety fee of one hundred dollars annually
12 from each holder of a commercial seafood permit fee who sells processes or
13 distributes imported seafood. The fee shall be three hundred dollars for the 2025
14 calendar year, five hundred dollars for the 2026 calendar year, seven hundred fifty
15 dollars for the 2027 calendar year, and one thousand dollars for the 2028 calendar
16 year and each calendar year thereafter. The proceeds of such fee shall be deposited
17 into the Imported Seafood Safety Fund used for the purposes described in R.S.
40:5.10.1.
