Abstract: Allows a healthcare provider to execute an agreement to provide data to an sickle cell
disease associations.
Present law establishes a registry to record data related to individuals diagnosed with sickle cell
disease in this state.
Present law requires a healthcare provider to provide the La. Dept. of Health with patient date when
an individual is diagnosed with sickle cell disease.
Present law directs the La. Dept. of Health to promulgate rules to govern the collection of data.
Proposed law allows a healthcare provider to execute an agreement to allow for the communication
of patient information to sickle cell disease associations.
