CRIME:  Provides relative to the crime of solicitation on certain highways and streets
Synopsis of Senate Amendments
1.Makes technical changes.
2.Provides for a statement of legislative intent.
3.Broadens the location where the crime of solicitation can take place to include
public rights-of-way.
4.Provides for certain exemptions within the definition of "anything of value".
5.Deletes the word "offering" from the crime of solicitation on an interstate
highway.
Digest of Bill as Finally Passed by Senate
Proposed law provides for a statement of legislative intent.
Present law provides that the crime of solicitation on an interstate highway is the intentional
act of soliciting, begging, panhandling, or otherwise requesting anything of value on any
interstate highway or on any entrance or exit ramp of an interstate highway.
Proposed law prohibits the commission of this offense on any public right-of-way.
Proposed law provides for a definition of "anything of value".
