Existing law (R.S. 14:97.1) provides for the crime of solicitation on an interstate highway
New law retains existing law.
New law provides for a statement of legislative intent.
Existing law provides that the crime of solicitation on an interstate highway is the intentional
act of soliciting, begging, panhandling, or otherwise requesting anything of value on any
interstate highway or on any entrance or exit ramp of an interstate highway.
New law retains existing law and adds the commission of this offense on any public right-of-
way.
New law provides for a definition of "anything of value".
Effective August 1, 2024.
