Directs the La. Dept. of Health to evaluate the current standards for psychiatric hospitals and
residential substance abuse facilities and make recommendations to the legislature for new or revised
standards to improve health outcomes and increase accountability.
Summary of Amendments Adopted by House
The Committee Amendment Proposed by House Committee on Health and Welfare to the
original bill:
1. Removes residential substance abuse facilities from the requirement for the La. Dept. of
Health to explore potential value-based financial incentives for certain Medicaid-enrolled
hospitals and facilities that sustain or exceed the quality of care criteria.
