HLS 24RS-3991 ORIGINAL 2024 Regular Session HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 204 BY REPRESENTATIVE FREEMAN CONDOLENCES: Expresses condolences on the death of David LaPlace Shall 1 A RESOLUTION 2To express the condolences of the House of Representatives upon the death of David 3 LaPlace Shall. 4 WHEREAS, it is with immense sadness and profound regret that the House of 5Representatives of the Legislature of Louisiana has learned of the passing, on April 23, 62024, of David LaPlace Shall; and 7 WHEREAS, David LaPlace Shall was born to Philip and Dorothy Shall on 8December 23, 1958, at Baptist Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana; he completed an 9undergraduate degree at Tulane University, where he met his wife, Margaret Clayton 10Downing Shall; and 11 WHEREAS, David loved New Orleans; he left to attend law school at Louisiana 12State University in Baton Rouge, but after one semester, he returned home to complete his 13law studies at Tulane Law; and 14 WHEREAS, David and his wife raised animals, and he loved building pens for 15turtles, ducks, bunnies, and whatever other animals his family brought home; he and his 16daughters, Isabelle and Camille, regularly hung out at Sal's Sno-Balls during the summer, 17and they all loved going to the shooting range, four-wheeling, and fishing together whenever 18they had the chance; and 19 WHEREAS, David LaPlace Shall leaves to cherish his beautiful memory his loving 20wife of forty-two years, Margaret Clayton Downing Shall; daughters, Isabelle LaPlace Shall 21Lewis (Bradley) and Camille Claiborne Shall; mother, Dorothy Benedict Mayer Shall; Page 1 of 2 HLS 24RS-3991 ORIGINAL HR NO. 204 1sisters, Elaine Michelle Shall, Phyllis Shall Michel (Gerry), and Jean Shall McAuliff 2(Eddie); brother, Don Philippe Shall (Trisha); and a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, 3and nephews; he will be deeply missed but certainly never forgotten. 4 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the 5Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express heartfelt condolences on the death of David 6LaPlace Shall and does hereby extend sincerest wishes that his family, friends, and loved 7ones find comfort in their shared memories of his beautiful life.
