2024 Regular Session ENROLLED SENATE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 62 BY SENATOR SEABAUGH A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION To commend and congratulate Mr. Chris Paige on his retirement from the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center. WHEREAS, born on November 7, 1957, Chris Paige has exemplified dedication, service, and excellence throughout his illustrious career and community involvement; and WHEREAS, a proud graduate of Natchitoches Central High School in 1975, Chris Paige attended Grambling State University and earned his certification in respiratory therapy; and WHEREAS, Chris Paige's commitment to healthcare began in 1980 when he commenced his career in Emergency Medical Services at the Natchitoches Parish Hospital and subsequently serving as a Respiratory Therapist at the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center (NRMC) for an impressive 35 years, where he provided exemplary care to countless patients; and WHEREAS, as the first African American Respiratory Therapist at the Natchitoches Parish Hospital, Chris Paige broke barriers and set a standard of excellence in his field, including his remarkable contributions during the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020-2021, where he selflessly worked to save lives in the face of great personal risk; and WHEREAS, over his 44-year tenure at the Natchitoches Parish Hospital/NRMC, Chris Paige has earned the admiration and gratitude of his colleagues and patients, assisting numerous cases of cardiopulmonary arrests and codes, and providing dedicated service to COVID patients; and WHEREAS, Chris Paige's contributions extend beyond his professional endeavors, as he has been an active and engaged member of his community, serving as a Natchitoches Parish Police Juror/Parish Councilman for thirty years, serving on the Board of Governors of the Louisiana Civil Service League, as Commissioner of the Natchitoches Parish 911 Board, and as President of the Breda Town Cemetery Committee; and Page 1 of 2 SCR NO. 62 ENROLLED WHEREAS, Chris Paige's commitment to his family, faith, and community is evident through his marriage to Mary Katherine LaCour Paige; his children Aja, Jaharrah, Chris Jr., and Matthew; his lifelong membership at First Baptist Church on North Street in Natchitoches; and his service as a Natchitoches Parish Police Juror/Parish Councilman. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend and congratulate Chris Paige on his retirement from the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center.
