SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 121

A RESOLUTION
To commend MY PADNAS for winning first place at the 22nd annual Louisiana Crawfish
Boil Championships held on Saturday, March 23, 2024.
WHEREAS, the 22nd annual Louisiana Crawfish Boil Championships were held at
Immaculate Conception School in the heart of Jefferson Parish on March 23, 2024; and
WHEREAS, the crawfish is Louisiana's official state crustacean, and boiling large
quantities of crawfish to juicy perfection is a world-renowned Louisiana culinary art and
tradition; and
WHEREAS, the Louisiana Crawfish Boil Championships are sanctioned by the state
as the official boiling championships; and
WHEREAS, every year, the event provides a day of family fun, music, and a cook-
off competition featuring corn, potatoes, sausage, and of course, all the crawfish attendants
can sample; and
WHEREAS, this year's championships boasted forty-five teams boiling thousands
of pounds of crawfish in a battle royale to impress the refined palates of the judges; and
WHEREAS, MY PADNAS rose to the challenge, capturing the coveted
championship belt and bragging rights to the best-tasting boiled crawfish in the state, besting
a top five of worthy challengers, including Magnolia Mud Hustlers, Pacific Gulf Wire Rope,
Inc., Ditch Diggers, and Crustacean Nation.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby commend MY PADNAS on winning first place at the 22nd annual Louisiana
Crawfish Boil Championships held on March 23, 2024.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Kenneth Lew.
