SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 127
BY SENATOR FIELDS 
CONDOLENCES. Expresses sincere and heartfelt condolences upon the death of Adrienne
Patrice Anderson Savoy.
1	A RESOLUTION
2 To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the
3 death of Adrienne Patrice Anderson Savoy.
4 WHEREAS, Adrienne Patrice Anderson Savoy, a beloved resident of Eunice,
5 Louisiana, entered eternal rest on May 18, 2024, at the age of fifty-six; and
6 WHEREAS, Patrice's life was marked by her deep love for her family and
7 community, her dedication to her loved ones, and her enduring faith; and
8 WHEREAS, Patrice was born on Friday, September 29, 1967, in Lafayette,
9 Louisiana, to her loving parents, Charles Ray Anderson Sr., and Joshlyn Veal Anderson; and
10 WHEREAS, the oldest of four children, Patrice was nurtured by her parents and
11 paternal grandparents, Houston and Lena Mae Lafleur Anderson, in a close-knit family; and
12 WHEREAS, her early education took place in San Francisco, California, before her
13 family returned to Eunice, Louisiana, where she attended public schools in St. Landry
14 Parish; and
15 WHEREAS, Patrice graduated from Eunice High School in 1985, and continued her
16 education at Southern University and A&M College; and
17 WHEREAS, after her education, Patrice worked various retail positions until health
18 challenges led to her becoming disabled and she remained dedicated to her family; and

1 WHEREAS, Patrice accepted Christ at a very early age and was baptized at the
2 Greater True Light Baptist Church by her uncle, Reverend Terry K. Anderson, and she
3 remained a lifelong member of the church where she generously supported church efforts,
4 particularly the Youth Ministry, Church Anniversary, Brotherhood, and Mission Ministries;
5 and
6 WHEREAS, she was an avid reader, a talented cook, a lover of card games, and she
7 enjoyed spending time with friends and family, always bringing laughter and joy to those
8 around her; and
9 WHEREAS, Patrice's compassionate heart led her to care for many children in need,
10 treating them as her own and providing them with love, support, and protection; and
11 WHEREAS, Patrice was a devoted mother and grandmother, ensuring her children,
12 Sparkle, Shinequa "Neek", and Cordero Anderson, were well-known and cherished, along
13 with Deja Malveaux, Harold "Pop" Savoy, and Jontavious Auzenne, whom she loved as her
14 own; and
15 WHEREAS, Patrice leaves behind to cherish her memories her father, Charles Ray
16 Anderson (Paula) of Eunice, Louisiana; her son, Harold Savoy, III of Eunice, Louisiana; her
17 daughter, Sparkle Godfrey (Troy) of Eunice, Louisiana; her brother, Charles Ray Anderson
18 Jr. (Carolyn) of Lake Charles, Louisiana; her sister, Brandy Anderson of Eunice, Louisiana;
19 her five grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends; and
20 WHEREAS, Adrienne was preceded in death by her mother, Joshlyn Anderson; her
21 brother, De'lanzo Veal; her son, Cordero Anderson; her daughter, Shinequa Anderson; her
22 paternal grandparents, Houston and Lena Mae Lafleur Anderson; and her maternal
23 grandparents, Ernest Veal and Helen Frank.
24 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
25 does hereby express sincere and heartfelt condolences upon the death of Adrienne Patrice
26 Anderson Savoy.
27 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
28 family of Adrienne Patrice Anderson Savoy.
