CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES:  Adds certain substances to the Uniform Controlled
Dangerous Substances Law
1	AN ACT
2To enact R.S. 40:964(Schedule I)(A)(106) and (107) and (E)(17), relative to the Uniform
3 Controlled Dangerous Substances Law; to add certain substances to the Uniform
4 Controlled Dangerous Substances Law; and to provide for related matters.
5Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
6 Section 1.  R.S. 40:964(Schedule I)(A)(106) and (107) and (E)(17) are hereby
7enacted to read as follows: 
8 ยง964.  Composition of schedules
9	Schedules I, II, III, IV, and V shall, unless and until added pursuant to R.S.
10 40:962, consist of the following drugs or other substances, by whatever official
11 name, common or usual name, chemical name, or brand name designated:
12	SCHEDULE I
13	A.  Opiates.  Unless specifically excepted or unless listed in another schedule,
14 any of the following opiates, including their isomers, esters, ethers, salts, or salts of
15 isomers, esters, and ethers, whenever the existence of such isomers, esters, ethers,
16 or salts is possible within the specific chemical designation:

19 nitro-1H-benzimidazole-1-ethanamine)

1	(107)  Etonitazepipne (2-[(4-ethoxyphenyl)methyl]-5-nitro-1-[2-(piperidin-1-
2 yl)ethyl]-1H-benzimidazole)

4	E.  Stimulants.  Unless specifically excepted, or contained within a
5 pharmaceutical product approved by the United States Food and Drug
6 Administration, or unless listed in another schedule, any material, compound,
7 mixture, or preparation which contains any quantity of the following substances
8 having a stimulant effect on the central nervous system including its salts, isomers,
9 esters, or ethers and salts of isomers, esters, or ethers whenever the existence of such
10 salts, isomers, esters, or ethers and salts of isomers, esters, or ethers is possible
11 within the specific chemical designation:

15 Section 2.  The Louisiana State Law Institute is hereby authorized and directed to
16renumber the new entries to ensure that the substances are in alphabetical order.

Abstract:  Adds certain substances to the Uniform Controlled Dangerous Substances Law.
Present law provides for the designation of controlled dangerous substances into Schedules
I, II, III, IV, and V based upon the substances' potential for addiction and abuse.
Proposed law adds N-Desethyl isotonitazene,  Etonitazepipne, and Ethylphenidate  to the list
of Schedule I drugs.
