R.S. 11:610 is hereby enacted to read as follows: 8 ยง610. Retirement; purchase of firearm 9 Any member of the State Employees' Retirement System who is a 10 commissioned officer employed by the Department of Agriculture and Forestry 11 pursuant to R.S. 3:734 or 4274.1, who has at least twenty years of active service, and 12 who retires under the provisions of R.S. 11:441 shall be entitled to purchase his 13 firearm at fair market value upon retirement, subject to the approval of the 14 commissioner of agriculture and forestry. Proposed law provides that any member of the State Employees' Retirement System who is a commissioned officer employed by the Dept. of Agriculture and Forestry pursuant to present law (R.S. 3:734 or 4274.1), who has at least 20 years of active service, and who retires under the provisions of present law (R.S. 11:441) shall be entitled to purchase his firearm at fair market value upon retirement, subject to the approval of the commissioner of agriculture and forestry.
