COMMENDATIONS: Commends Casey Durand of Central Timber Services on being
named the 2024 Outstanding Louisiana Logger by the Louisiana Forestry
Association
1 A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
2To commend Casey Durand of Central Timber Services on being named the 2024
3 Outstanding Louisiana Logger by the Louisiana Forestry Association.
4 WHEREAS, Casey Durand is a logger in central Louisiana who is deeply committed
5to the safe and efficient practice of his profession; loggers move raw timber from forest land
6to mills that process it into usable materials, and they are vitally important members of the
7forestry community; and
8 WHEREAS, the Louisiana logging industry is comprised of small businesses, most
9of which are family-run operations; loggers play a critically important role in the
10management of Louisiana's forests and contribute tremendously to local economies, and they
11rely on their family and faith to overcome the challenges of their work; and
12 WHEREAS, Mr. Durand was selected by his peers as the representative of all that
13is good and honorable about the Louisiana logging industry; he is well-known by landowners
14for his professionalism and use of Louisiana's Forestry Best Management Practices, and the
15quality of his work makes him a highly demanded logger among timberland owners; and
16 WHEREAS, Casey Durand is most deserving of the highest recognition for
17maintaining a standard of true excellence in the practice of logging.
18 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
19commend Casey Durand of Central Timber Services on being named the 2024 Outstanding
20Louisiana Logger by the Louisiana Forestry Association and does hereby extend sincerest

1wishes that he continue his incredible work and prosper in all of his endeavors for many
2years to come.
