COMMENDATIONS: Commends the Lacassine High School boys' basketball team on
winning the Louisiana High School Athletic Association 2025 Class B state
championship
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the Lacassine High School boys' basketball team on winning the Louisiana
3 High School Athletic Association 2025 Class B state championship.
4 WHEREAS, the Lacassine High School Cardinals captured the 2025 Class B state
5title by defeating Avoyelles Public Charter School, 77-61, in the championship game held
6at Burton Coliseum in Lake Charles, Louisiana; and
7 WHEREAS, Coach Micah Raspberry has elevated the Lacassine basketball program,
8leading the team to its first championship appearance since 1976 and first state title since
91964; the Cardinals finished the season on a thirty-two game winning streak; and
10 WHEREAS, Lacassine saw four players score in double figures during the
11championship game; Kane Broussard was recognized as the Most Valuable Player after
12scoring twenty-three points; Maliki Broussard scored seventeen points, and Jordan Garcia
13and Remy Prudhomme added sixteen points each; and
14 WHEREAS, the Lacassine Cardinals and the team's trainers and coaches are most
15deserving of the highest recognition for their incredible achievements this season.
16 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
17Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Lacassine High School boys' basketball
18team on winning the Louisiana High School Athletic Association 2025 Class B state
19championship and does hereby extend sincerest wishes that the team's players and coaches
20continue their excellent work and always strive for greatness.
