SPECIAL DAY/WEEK/MONTH: Designates April 22, 2025, as Funeral Director Day at
the state capitol

2To designate Tuesday, April 22, 2025, as Funeral Director Day at the state capitol.
3 WHEREAS, the Louisiana Funeral Directors Association was founded in 1918 by
4unlicensed undertakers with a shared vision to transform their trade into a respected
5profession that is dedicated to improving service quality and meeting the needs of the public;
6and
7 WHEREAS, the Louisiana Funeral Directors Association promotes integrity in
8funeral service through education, legislation, networking, and communications; the
9association remains committed to the core principles that elevated it into a professional
10organization, and its efforts today ensure that members have a strong voice in state and
11national legislative matters and adhere to higher standards within the funeral profession; and
12 WHEREAS, the Louisiana Funeral Directors Association is fueled by the
13participation of its members, who drive the association's growth and ensure its ongoing
14success by contributing their time, talent, and ideas; the association is dedicated to
15continuously improving and upholding the integrity of the funeral profession, and it remains
16committed to exploring new ideas to advance its mission; and
17 WHEREAS, licensed funeral directors and embalmers are recognized as essential
18personnel who maintain public safety, and they serve the citizens of Louisiana's sixty-four
19parishes with dignity and respect twenty-four hours a day and three hundred sixty-five days
20a year; they are most deserving of the highest recognition for their incredible service.

1 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
2Legislature of Louisiana does hereby designate Tuesday, April 22, 2025, as Funeral Director
3Day at the state capitol and does hereby commend the Louisiana Funeral Directors
4Association for its outstanding achievements and unwavering commitment to excellence in
5serving the citizens of Louisiana.
