SB 113 Original	2025 Regular Session	Seabaugh
Present law (R.S. 33:1221) provides that police jurors shall serve four year terms.
Proposed law retains present law but provides that no person who has been elected to serve as a
police juror in DeSoto Parish for more than two and one-half terms in three consecutive terms shall
be eligible to be a police juror for the succeeding term.
Proposed law provides that the limit on the number of terms a member of the police jury in DeSoto
Parish may serve shall be subject to approval of a majority of the electors voting at an election held
for that purpose.
Proposed law provides that proposed law shall have prospective application only and shall not apply
to police jurors elected prior to the effective date of proposed law.
Effective August 1, 2025.
