SPECIAL DISTRICTS.  Repeals provisions of the Vermilion Economic Development

1	AN ACT
2 To repeal Subpart B-29 of Part IV of Chapter 1 of Title 33 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes
3 of 1950, comprised of R.S. 33:130.561 through 130.570, relative to the Vermilion
4 Economic Development District; to provide for an effective date; and to provide for
5 related matters.
6	Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published.
7 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
8 Section 1. Subpart B-29 of Part IV of Chapter 1 of Title 33 of the Louisiana Revised
9 Statutes of 1950, comprised of R.S. 33:130.561 through 130.570, is hereby repealed in its
10 entirety.
11 Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not
12 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature
13 by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If
14 vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become
15 effective on the day following such approval.

Present law (R.S. 33:130.561) creates a political subdivision of the state within the parish
of Vermilion to be known as the Vermilion Economic Development District. Provides that
the purpose of the district is for the primary object and purpose of promoting and
encouraging industrial development to stimulate the economy through commerce, industry,
and research and for utilization and development of natural and human resources of the area
by providing job opportunities.
Proposed law repeals the Vermilion Economic Development District.
Effective upon signature of the governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
