SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 10

COMMENDATIONS. Commends Mackenzie Elizabeth Hutson on being selected "Student
of the Year" at Maurepas High School in Livingston Parish.
1 A RESOLUTION
2 To commend and congratulate Mackenzie Elizabeth Hutson, also know as "Mack", on being
3 selected as the 2024-2025 "Student of the Year", as a graduating senior, at Maurepas
4 High School in Livingston Parish.
5 WHEREAS, graduating from high school is an important milestone in a student's life
6 that signifies success in academics and the achievement of one's goals; and
7 WHEREAS, graduating from high school is also one of the most important indicators
8 of future success in life, including employment prospects, income potential, and overall
9 health; and
10 WHEREAS, Mack is set to graduate from Maurepas High School in May 2025, and
11 it is appropriate to recognize her for all of her accomplishments throughout her high school
12 career; and
13 WHEREAS, beyond her academic achievements, Mack has been a leader in both her
14 school and community; and
15 WHEREAS, during her time at Maurepas High School, Mack served as president of
16 the Beta and 4-H Clubs and is part of the Livingston Parish Talented Theatre and Talented
17 Music programs; and
18 WHEREAS, she has also been a member of the Maurepas High School's Cooking

1 Club, FCS, and the Chess Club and served as manager of the track team; and
2 WHEREAS, in addition to her extracurricular activities, and her duties at Maurepas
3 High School, Mack has worked diligently to prepare herself for college and plans to attend
4 Southeastern Louisiana University where she will study nursing and aspires to be a nurse
5 practitioner; and
6 WHEREAS, Mackenzie Elizabeth Hutson exemplifies the very best of students in
7 the Class of 2025 and her future holds incredible promise; and
8 WHEREAS, through her academic achievements and her community involvement,
9 Mack has formed a solid foundation upon which her future successes can be built, and it is
10 only fitting to acknowledge the accomplishment of Mackenzie Elizabeth Hutson upon being
11 selected "Student of the Year" at Maurepas High School in Livingston Parish.
12 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
13 does hereby commend and congratulate Mackenzie Elizabeth Hutson on being selected the
14 2024-2025 "Student of the Year" at Maurepas High School in Livingston Parish.
15 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
16 Mackenzie Elizabeth Hutson.
