SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 17

COMMENDATIONS. Commends Rhett Joseph Pitarro on being selected "Student of the
Year" at Walker High School in Livingston Parish.
1 A RESOLUTION
2 To commend and congratulate Rhett Joseph Pitarro on being selected the 2024-2025
3 "Student of the Year", as a graduating senior, at Walker High School in Livingston
4 Parish.
5 WHEREAS, graduating from high school is an important milestone in a student's life
6 that signifies success in academics and the achievement of one's goals; and
7 WHEREAS, graduating from high school is also one of the most important indicators
8 of future success in life, including employment prospects, income potential, and overall
9 health; and
10 WHEREAS, Rhett Joseph Pitarro is set to graduate with a weighted GPA of 4.04 and
11 a composite ACT score of 34 from Walker High School in May 2025, and it is appropriate
12 to recognize him for all of his accomplishments throughout his high school career; and
13 WHEREAS, beyond his academic achievements, Rhett has been a leader in both his
14 school and community; and
15 WHEREAS, during his time at Walker High School, Rhett served as the "Fellowship
16 of Christian Athletes" spiritual leader for the baseball team and the bible study leader at
17 Istrouma Baptist youth study group; and
18 WHEREAS, he has also been a member of the Walker High School's baseball team

1 and the Key Club; and
2 WHEREAS, in addition to his extracurricular activities, his duties at Walker High
3 School, and his being a Duke University Blue Devil fan, Rhett has worked diligently to
4 prepare himself for college and has been recognized for his exemplary ACT scores by ACT,
5 Inc.; and
6 WHEREAS, Rhett Joseph Pitarro exemplifies the very best of students in the Class
7 of 2025 and his future holds incredible promise; and
8 WHEREAS, through his academic achievements and his community involvement,
9 Rhett has formed a solid foundation upon which his future successes can be built, and it is
10 only fitting to acknowledge the accomplishment of Rhett Joseph Pitarro upon being selected
11 "Student of the Year" at Walker High School in Livingston Parish.
12 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
13 does hereby commend and congratulate Rhett Joseph Pitarro on being selected the 2024-
14 2025 "Student of the Year" at Walker High School in Livingston Parish.
15 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Rhett
16 Joseph Pitarro.
