SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 23

SPECIAL DAY/WEEK/MONTH. Commends the Geaux Far Louisiana Coalition and
designates Tuesday, April 15, 2025, as Geaux Far Day at the Louisiana State Capitol.
1 A RESOLUTION
2 To commend the Geaux Far Louisiana Coalition and to designate Tuesday, April 15, 2025,
3 as Geaux Far Day at the Louisiana State Capitol.
4 WHEREAS, Geaux Far Louisiana was established in 2021 with thirty-six individuals
5 from various sectors advocating for the needs of Louisiana's children from prenatal to age
6 five, with intentional centering of parent and early childhood providers; and
7 WHEREAS, Geaux Far Louisiana believes in a unified early childhood system and
8 has identified five goals to ensure families have access to seamless, high-quality early child
9 development, health, and educational services; and
10 WHEREAS, Geaux Far Louisiana collaborates with Louisiana-based partner
11 organizations dedicated to carrying out specific objectives within each goal area that aligns
12 with the work they are already doing; and
13 WHEREAS, all families in Louisiana want their children to be healthy, happy, and
14 to thrive; and
15 WHEREAS, healthy families and young children, prenatal to age five, are the
16 backbone of thriving communities and economic vitality for our state; and
17 WHEREAS, by engaging parents, educators, policymakers, and community leaders,
18 Geaux Far Louisiana aims to shape policies, advocate for change, and improve outcomes for

1 young learners statewide; and
2 WHEREAS, Geaux Far Louisiana encourages individuals to become "Champions
3 for Children" by lending their voices, time, and talents to advocate for legislative policies.
4 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
5 does hereby commend the Geaux Far Louisiana Coalition and does hereby designate
6 Tuesday, April 15, 2025, as Geaux Far Day at the Louisiana State Capitol.
7 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
8 Geaux Far Louisiana Coalition.
