| 30 | 30 | | 1 SECTION 1. Section 8(a) of Chapter 12C of the General Laws is amended by adding the |

| 31 | 31 | | 2following sentence after the first sentence thereof: |

| 32 | 32 | | 3 The center shall collect from each hospital its annual bad debt in total and broken down |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | 4by the payer that insured the patient, including all commercial payers, government payers, and |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | 5bad debt arising from services rendered to self-pay and uninsured patients; the claim denial rate |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | 6by each commercial and government payer along with the annual dollar value of denied claims |

| 36 | 36 | | 7by payer; and an aged accounts receivable report by payer, and the center shall publish an annual |

| 37 | 37 | | 8report disclosing such data by hospital. |
