Housing. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts _______________ In the One Hundred and Ninety-Third General Court (2023-2024) _______________ An Act relative to detached accessory dwellings. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: 1 SECTION 1. Section 94 of Chapter 143 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2020 2Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding at the end thereof the following paragraph:- 3 (s) To incorporate the International Code Council’s Appendix Q into the code of 4Massachusetts regulations, 780 CMR, for purposes of defining “tiny homes” and establishing 5requirements and standards for the construction of tiny homes, and to develop and promulgate 6rules and regulations necessary to administering and enforcing regulation of tiny homes. Any 7Appendix Q provisions incorporated into the code of Massachusetts regulations shall be updated 8within 1 year of any revision to the International Residential Code for one and two family 9dwellings.
