J. Ayers for legislation to authorize the Department of Highways to acquire certain land in the 
city of Quincy and the town of Milton by eminent domain for flood control and prevention

An Act authorizing the Department of Highways to acquire land in the city of Quincy and the 
town of Milton for the purpose of flood control and prevention.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority 
of the same, as follows:
1 SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the department 
2of highway may take by eminent domain on behalf of the commonwealth, under chapter 79 of 
3the General Laws, certain land located in the city of Quincy and town of Milton for the purpose 
4of alleviating and preventing flooding associated with any constructed state highway.
