26	26	An Act providing for equity within the Judicial Branch.
27	27	Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
28	28	of the same, as follows:
29	29	1 SECTION 1. Notwithstanding sections 93 and 94 of chapter 221; section 6 of
30	30	2chapter211A; sections 53, 58, and 79 of chapter 218; section 35A of chapter 217; section 14 of
31	31	3chapter 185 and section 9A of chapter 185C or any other general or special law or by-law to the
32	32	4contrary, the salaries of the Clerk of the Supreme Judicial Court for the Commonwealth, the
33	33	5Clerk of the of the Supreme Judicial Court for Suffolk County, the Clerk of the Appeals Court,
34	34	6the Clerks in the Superior Court, the Clerk of the Superior Court for Criminal Business in the
35	35	7County of Suffolk, the Clerk of the Superior Court for Civil Business in the County of Suffolk,
36	36	8the Clerks of the Boston Municipal Court; the Clerks in the Juvenile Department; the Clerks in
37	37	9the District Court Department; the Registers of the Probate and Family Court Department; the
38	38	10Recorder of the Land Court Department; and the Clerks of the Housing Court Department shall
39	39	11be 84.57 percent of the salary of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Judicial Court. 2 of 3
40	40	12 SECTION 2. Said section 22 of chapter 211 of the General Laws, as so appearing, is
41	41	13hereby amended by striking out, in line 1, the figure “$232,101” and inserting in place thereof
42	42	14the following figure:- $242,101.
43	43	15 SECTION 3. Said section 22 of said chapter 211, as so appearing, is hereby further
44	44	16amended by striking out, in line 2, the figure “$226,187” and inserting in place thereof the
45	45	17following figure:- $236,187.
46	46	18 SECTION 4. Said section 2 of chapter 211A of the General Laws, as so appearing, is
47	47	19hereby amended by striking out, in line 1, the figure “$219,856” and inserting in place thereof
48	48	20the following figure:- $229,856.
49	49	21 SECTION 5. Said section 2 of said chapter 211A, as so appearing, is hereby further
50	50	22amended by striking out, in line 2, the figure “$213,924” and inserting in place thereof the
51	51	23following figure:- $223,924.
52	52	24 SECTION 6. Said section 4 of chapter 211B of the General Laws, as so appearing, is
53	53	25hereby amended by striking out, in line 3, the figure “$207,855” and inserting in place thereof
54	54	26the following figure:- $217,855.
55	55	27 SECTION 7. Said section 4 of said chapter 211B, as so appearing, is hereby further
56	56	28amended by striking out, in line 5, the figure “$213,966” and inserting in place thereof the
57	57	29following figure:- $223,966.
58	58	30 SECTION 8. Said section 4 of said chapter 211B, as so appearing, is hereby further
59	59	31amended by striking out, in line 7, the figure “$220,160” and inserting in place thereof the

61	61	33 SECTION 9. This act shall be effect on of July 1, 2023.
